Fiddly Workspace? Try the Bosch IXO4 Cordless DIY Screwdriver

This isn’t the beefiest power tool we’ve ever featured on Toolstop TV, and you may balk at the idea of calling it a power tool in the first place. But there are some jobs that our mightiest power tools aren’t any match for, purely because of their sheer size. That’s why something like the Bosch IXO4 Cordless DIY Screwdriver comes in so handy, particularly because of the supplied right-angle and “easy reach” adaptors.

    Features:
Powered by Lithium-Ion technology – no discharge, no memory effect
Power Light for working in low light conditions
Eyebolt can be used for an anti-theft protection at POS or for a lanyard keychain to hold the IXO in between work
    Forward reverse indicator (direction LED)
    Battery indicator LED
Small tool body & ergonomic 2-finger triggers for optimal handling
    Surprisingly powerful
Soft grip for a better grip and control of the machine

And it weighs in at only 0.3kg. Available to buy today at Toolstop.

The New Bosch Power Box 360 Jobsite Radio – Sneak Peek

We’ve discussed jobsite radios on the blog previously.  The Makita came out top followed by the original Bosch radio.

The original Bosch was the GML24V followed by the GML24VCD.  These have been on the market for a few years now and the time has come for Bosch to release a new model.  The official release won’t be until later this year but here is a sneak preview of some of the features you’ll see on the Power Box 360.

360 degree speakers – so you can put the radio right in the middle of the jobsite and it’s going to project the sound in all directions.  It also has a subwoofer for great bass.

Moisture and dust resistant – don’t worry too much that it’s on site, outdoors.  The IP54 rating ensures the radio is not affected by the odd shower or dust storm.

Aluminium and rubber roll cage – in case the radio takes a fall or gets booted over, it’s protected all round.

Digital media bay – this is my favourite bit.  There is a weather sealed storage bay for your ipod or personal stereo with connections for them as well as SD card or USB stick.

Battery charger bay – this allows you to charge your power tool batteries as well as play the radio with them if there is not power available.

Powered USB port – charge your phone while you’re listening to the music.

Power outlets – it’s not clear at the moment how many there will be but these will let you plug in your corded tools, site lights etc to the radio so in effect it acts as an extension cable as well.

Hope that’s whetted your appetite.  More as soon as we’ve got it.

Let us know what you think about the new radio from Bosch.bosch-power-box-360
